My theory on Harriet Miers nomination and her subsequent withdrawal. I have said all along that she is a distraction, a diversion, something to fill the airwaves.

I think they deliberately chose Miers as a distraction from the investigation of the White House leak of revealing a covert CIA official.

When the WH was asked for documents that pertained to Miers counsel, the WH tried to stonewall.

Why do you think they were stonewalling?
Could it have anything to do with Miers giving counsel on the leak itself?

I happen to have a gut feeling this could be behind her withdrawal, we may never know the answer to that million dollar question.
