Over the Ridge

Why was it necessary to force FEMA into Homeland Security, and then squeeze FEMA of their funds?
Why would anyone in their right mind, allow something like this to happen?
When you consider how many natural disasters our country has in just one year alone, with all the hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, and forest fires, did they really think that gutting the funds to FEMA would be beneficial to the citizens of our country?
Do they really want us to believe we are better prepared to deal with disasters natural or man made?
Why would Tom Ridge come out and tell everyone to quit whining?
Did he not see what was happening with Katrina?
Did he lose his home, or anyone in his family?
If he doesn't have anything positive to offer, then shouldn't he just shut the hell up?
Why do states that have the least threat of a terrorist attack get large sums of Homeland Security funds?
Do they really expect us to believe that terrorist would attack Wyoming?

The red states, like Wyoming, get more Homeland Security money because it's a bribe. Works just like corporations buying the republican party for favorable legislation. The administration is buying votes. Same goes for faith based funding. They prefer to spend our tax dollars to bribe their base. Frankly it's brilliant. Evil but brilliant.

And you know the answer to the question about them being in their right minds. No they're totally insane.

And like everything GOP, it is all about projection.
Accuse the Other of that which one is doing or secretly wishes to do when empowered. In this case, pork going to special interests. Nothing new there.

Unfortunately, when coupled with the Norquist jihad (drowning government in the bathtub) real people end up being killed through arrogant criminal neglect.

As the Hippo sez...Oy.
