I knew it only take a day or so to confirm who would benefit from the UAE port arrangement. Of course it was the diligent bloggers who would break the story wide open.

And as it turns out the head of the US Treasury is going to make out like a bandit in this arrangement. Being the former head of CSX the shipping industry, he is making MILLIONS off of this deal.
Bob Dole has been hired by the Dubai Ports World to lobby congress to make sure they don't stand in the way.
Way to go Bob! Glad you're so concerned about our national security.

Then there's this: Under a secretive agreement with the Bush administration, a company in the United Arab Emirates promised to cooperate with U.S. investigations as a condition of its takeover of operations at six major American ports, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

It really comes as no surprise to me. But what I want to know who else is ranking in the money.
