I'm the President and I Can Do What I Want

''Each review is based on a fresh intelligence assessment of terrorist threats to continuity of our government and the threat of catastrophic damage to our homeland," Bush said in his Dec. 17 radio address. ''The review includes approval by our nation's top legal officials, including the attorney general and the counsel to the president."

The current occupants of those jobs are Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and White House counsel Harriet E. Miers. Prior to 2005, Gonzales was White House counsel and John Ashcroft was attorney general.

Gonzales and Miers have no experience in federal law. They were corporate lawyers before joining the Bush Regime. They are incompetent and they should be investigated by an independent counsel.

If the Supreme Court hears this case, (if it finds its way there) and rules in the president's favor, then think how that will affect the future presidencies.
Will the White House be allowed to spy on whoever they choose?
How would the right wing react had Clinton decided to spy on his enemies?
How will they react when a democrat takes over the White House and decides to spy on their activities?
Do they think just because they have nothing to hide that makes it okay?
